I have been charged with a crime
We can help when you have a hearing for a criminal charge in the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria
We can:
- talk to you about your charges and the court process
- represent you at court or suggest other lawyers to help
- give you information and help you access other supports to help you
How we can help
Our lawyers listen to you and answer your questions. They can help you understand what you have been charged with, what might happen next and how court works.
We give advice over the phone, online or in person. In some situations, we may help you at court. If not, we can explain how to get support from another lawyer.
Our lawyers work with social workers and financial counsellors to support your wellbeing and safety during this time.
Please note, we cannot help if the only charges you are facing are driving offences or breaches of personal safety intervention orders.
