Social media community guidelines

Our priority is creating a respectful, inclusive and accessible platforms to discuss issues related to achieving our vision of a gender-equitable society where women and non-binary people live free from violence and discrimination.  
 

Posts and comments are deleted if they are found to:

  • harass, bully or provoke others. 
  • express racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist or ableist views. 
  • are predatory or sexually explicit in nature. 
  • express views that minimise violence against women and non-binary people or demean, distress or blame victim-survivors of family and sexual violence. 
  • use profanity or derogatory language.  
  • are potentially defamatory or breach privacy laws or the privacy of others (for example, containing a person’s contact information). 
  • include misleading information or misinformation. 
  • are off-topic spam posts or promotional endorsements for commercial products or services.  
     

If you fail to follow these guidelines, we may block your account on one or more platforms.  

To create meaningful and valuable discussion, please stay on topic when commenting on posts to the page. A notice is put in place of any deleted comment to let people know the comment was deleted and why.  If users continue, we block them.  

Women’s Legal Service Victoria’s social media platforms is managed and maintained by Women’s Legal Service Victoria. We’ll do our best to respond to your comments and queries within 3 business days.
