We will contact you safely
If it is not safe for us to call or email you, you can tell us when you apply for legal help.
We can:
- contact you at a time that is safe
- use a different way to get in touch
- work with a trusted person if needed
All calls from us come from a private number.

If you apply for legal help:
- we review your information
- we contact you within 2 weeks
- we let you know the next steps
If we cannot help, we will try to connect you with another support service.

Yes. You can speak to us to get information and support, even if you’re not ready to take action.
Yes. Your appointment with a Women’s Legal lawyer, social worker or financial counsellors is free. Your information is private and we do not share it with anyone else, including government or other services.
Sometimes there may be costs if you need more help with your legal issue.
This might include:
- a lawyer from outside Women’s Legal to represent you in court
- court fees
- paying for reports, visas or other documents you need
If there are any costs, we will tell you first. You can then choose what you want to do.
No, but we can provide details of a Justice of the Peace if you need documents to be witnessed.
We do not have any after-hours or weekend services.
No. You can get legal advice even if you are not going to court.
